David B. Mann relocated from the United States from South Korea in October of 2006. He is originally from Amarillo, TX, and has worked and lived in Dallas, TX, Houston, TX; San Diego, CA; Norfolk, VA; and NYC, NY.
Upon graduating form the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Arts in Radio, Television and Film, He lived in NYC for three years working as Director of Photography and a lighting director. David then lived in Houston, TX, working as a lighting technician and camera operator for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stagehand Employees, Local 51.
David then served in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician. After leaving the navy, he worked on the M.S. Oosterdam as the Broadcast Technician. It was during this time that David began selling his still photography to galleries in Alaska. David next lived in Gongju, South Korea.
While living in South Korea, David has had a solo exhibition at Buddha’s Belly in Seoul, South Korea, and shot for various newspapers, magazines and online publications. David’s current work can best be described as “Dynamic Youth Imagery.”
“I find youth and youth culture the most interesting because it is always changing, never sits still, and, by it’s very nature, has to constantly reinvent itself. Putting myself in this environment with a camera always makes me reinvent myself, and my photography.”
Recently, David has shot for clients such as AIG Korea and Nottevera Fashion Group, which is based in NYC.
